We think the idea of having 10 million people around the world to have forced permanent migration – FORCED PERMANENT MIGRATION – and to have the world just witnessing it, is not right.”

-– Honorable Minister of Environment of Costa Rica, H.E. Mr. René Castro speaking about vulnerable populations in the face of climate change at Rio+20. After speaking about these ethical reasons for action, he reported that 1% of Costa Rica’s GDP is lost because of climate change. The Minister of Environment for Bangladesh spoke after and reported that for his and other countries, that number is even higher and will continue to take an increasing toll on their economy if we do not act.
